Biography
Marvin L. Chapman is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), MFC27081, Clinical Forensic Counselor (CFC), F16841, Divorce Coach and Registered Legal Document Assistant. Early on Marvin recognized his passion for aiding people in crisis when he began his career as an Army medivac helicopter pilot and emergency medical technician. After being honorably discharged from the Army and upon completing his education, Marvin worked within the family court system as a family mediator with Mediation and Conciliation Court Services, Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. Therefore, he has first hand knowledge of how the family court system works and its requirements. More importantly, having worked with thousands of parents from both within and outside of the family court system, Marvin understands the confusion and frustration of parents who are caught in the adversarial family court process.

In 1986, Marvin was appointed to the California Senate Task Force on Family Equity, a task force set up by the California legislature to review and make recommendations to the legislature on issues relating to family courts. Marvin is a member of Who's Who Among Outstanding Business Executives and Who's Who in California. As a licensed therapist, trained mediator, experienced divorce coach and with over 27 years of experience in the family court arena, Marvin is uniquely qualified to assist parents going through the family court process.

Marvin is currently the President of United Fathers of America, a nonprofit organization established in 1976. The mission of United Fathers is to enhance parental involvement in the lives of their children, physically and emotionally as well as financially, during and after the breakdown of the parents' relationship, by providing education, information and empowerment to responsible mothers and fathers. They accomplish their mission by assisting dedicated parents who are experiencing perplexing and intimidating adversarial family court system.

In 2001, the Orange County District Attorney, Family Support Division, retained Marvin to be a guest lecturer for their customer service training.

In 2001, 2002, and again in 2004, Marvin's work at United Fathers of America received special recognition from Disneyland Resort by being selected to receive their Community Service Award. The 2004 award was the Jack B. Lindquist Award, recognizing United Fathers as being the most outstanding nonprofit organization in Orange County, CA.

With over 27 years of experience, Marvin has been involved in thousands of cases and has developed a working professional relationship with the Courts, Facilitator's Office, Legal Aid Society, Department of Social Services, Department of Child Support Services, private attorneys, custody evaluators, therapists and many others.

This lifetime of knowledge and experience is what Marvin draws upon when helping parents who are going through the family court process. Marvin's passion is to share his knowledge and experience with others.
